Dr. Sarah Axtell Begins New Year’s Detoxification Program
Dr. Sarah Axtell
Dr. Sarah Axtell, a naturopathic physician who practices at Lakeside Natural Medicine, in Shorewood, is offering a month-long, group detoxification program for people with healthful New Year’s resolutions. The group will meet every Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m., from January 7 through 28, at INVIVO Wellness, in Milwaukee.
Axtell describes the program as a gentle, non-fasting approach that comprises group support and accountability, lectures, handouts and recipe ideas. Goals include increased energy, improved sleep, better digestion, possible weight loss, healthier skin, improved mood and fewer allergies.
“There’s no doubt that we live in a toxic environment,” Axtell comments. “Toxic overload places an incredible burden on our bodies, especially the liver and kidneys, our main organs of detoxification. The accumulation of toxins and toxic byproducts in our organs and tissues can have profound effects on our physiology. Given the state of our world today, everyone can benefit from detoxification at least once a year.”
