The coordinators of the Midwest Women’s Herbal Conference will present Mycelium Mysteries: a Women’s Mushroom Retreat, from September 27 through 29, in Almond, Wisconsin. This event will focus on understanding fungi as the grandmothers of our ecosystem and mushrooms as medicine.

Keynote speakers include Katherine MacLean, Ph.D., with Mama Mushroom: Navigating Birth, Caregiving & Death with Psilocybin Mushrooms; and Gina Rivers Contla, with Guardians of the Ecosystem: Can Mushrooms Speak to Trees and Save the Bees?

The retreat also offers workshops at beginner through advanced levels. Topics include Wild Mushroom Skills, such as gathering, identification and preparation, with recipes; Mushroom Nutrition; Mushroom Medicine, with home remedies; and Mushroom History. Workshops will be presented by Cornelia Cho, M.D., Sarah Foltz Jordan, Linda Conroy, Linda Grigg, Sonia Horowitz and others.
