Anna Rychner, a registered yoga teacher with more than 500 hours experience, is teaching Raja Yoga, a complete system of physical, mental and spiritual practices for health and well-being, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Monday evenings, at Blue Sky School of Therapeutic Massage, in Grafton. Open enrollment for all levels is ongoing. Rychner has taught yoga since the 1970s, specializing in gentle movement, relaxation, integrative breath work and meditation tools for wellness.
Calming the mind and muscles through simple diaphragmatic breathing and relaxation techniques are at the core of Raja Yoga. Rychner has introduced yoga in hospital and clinic settings, and currently leads Chair Yoga for Seniors classes at the Laurel Oaks Assisted Living Community. She also teaches Yoga for Stress Management at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, which provides students with stress-coping and relaxation skills to ensure success in their education and futures.
