Sana Acupuncture & Apothecary, a community acupuncture clinic and Oriental-style herbal pharmacy, celebrated its grand opening this year at 924 West Oklahoma Avenue, in Milwaukee. The comfortable, welcoming clinic offers affordable acupuncture, as well as herbal compounding apothecary services and massage.
Sana is owned by Heather Peterman, a board certified, licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist who holds two degrees—Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Master of Science in Oriental Medicine—and is currently working to complete another, the Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
The clinic offers both private and community-style options. The latter uses a group community room to keep sessions affordable, so it can be experienced frequently. The community room also allows family and friends to share the experience. “Our treatment room is a quiet space to rest and relax; the atmosphere of collective stillness and calm is created by patients relaxing and reflecting together,” describes Peterman. “Everyone deserves to live a happy, pain-free life,” she says. “At Sana, our mission is acupuncture for the people.”
