Certified Hypnotherapist Karla Hermann, owner of Hypnosis For Change, is affiliated with the HypnoBirthing Institute and is certified and authorized to teach the complete HypnoBirthing Program. She offers ongoing group classes at her office in Glendale, in sessions of five weekly classes lasting two-and-a-half hours each. Private and in-home classes are also available.
HypnoBirthing–The Mongan Method is as much a philosophy as it is a technique, based on the idea that when a woman is properly prepared for childbirth and mind and body are in harmony, nature is free to function in the same manner that it does with all other creatures. From this concept, a very simple program of self-hypnosis, special breathing and visualization has been designed to help the birthing mother embrace an understanding of how to trust and work with her body, as well as how to free herself of harmful emotions that lead to pain-causing fear and unyielding muscles.
The classes show that the birthing muscles naturally work in perfect harmony when the body is sufficiently relaxed. Participants will learn how to achieve this kind of relaxation, free of the resistance that fear creates, and how to use their natural birthing instincts for a serene and comfortable birthing.
