Let Stress Float Away This Holiday Season

In today’s stressful world, a float tank can be an effective tool to allow the mind and body to truly relax, de-stress and recharge. Float Life, a float spa in Whitefish Bay, is offering $15 off the first month of any one of four float membership options at the online checkout. Gift certificates are also available at the spa. The offer is valid during December and January.
Float therapy pods contain a shallow depth of approximately 200 gallons of water in which 1,000 pounds of Epsom salts are dissolved so the floater becomes effortlessly buoyant. The tanks are insulated to dull any exterior noise, and the water is heated to average skin temperature—93.5 degrees. The environment promotes mental clarity and the Epsom salt provides natural muscle relaxation and detoxification.
“Our bodies are not used to being in a light-, sound- and touch-restricted environment. Our current lifestyles do not allow for it and often we are left completely drained mentally and physically at the end of the day,” says James Howe, of Float Life. “Floating is an experience as unique as the individual. By removing external stimuli, the mind is able to untether itself from the body and you become the driver on a dreamlike adventure while joints and muscles release their tension and decompress.”
